Mackie Celebrates 20 Years Running

ORLANDO, Florida - June 17, 2009 – Mackie announces 20 years since they first rocked the foundations of pro audio with the introduction of the CR-1604 Compact Mixer. Over the course of two decades, Mackie has released countless innovative products that have irrevocably shaped the music industry.
Mackie mixers, amps, interfaces and speakers have become industry standard — found on stages, under podiums, in stadium sound booths and doing double-duty in home studios when the band isn’t out on the road. Mackie products mix network TV shows, platinum albums and blockbuster film soundtracks. And Mackie studio monitors, mic preamps and control surfaces are staples for the most prestigious studios and post-production facilities around the world.
Mackie’s history is full of breakthrough products which have gone on to define the music business. In fact, the categories created by such innovative products like the CR-1604, HR824, SRM450 and MCU are now industry standard. And despite continued growth since the “condo days,” Mackie has managed to retain the combination of intense professionalism and sporadic silliness that makes the brand and its products so unique. You’ll still find Mackie employees sharing a beer or four at nearby Redhook Brewery on Thursday afternoons and they’ll always dress on the far side of casual. But through it all, Mackie has not lost sight of the fact that its purpose is to make the customer’s job easier and more creative…by making solid, affordable and reliable pro audio products for the modern musician, producer and engineer.
