The Multi Award WinningDocumentary on One team are holding a two-day training course in professional documentary-making for radio. The course, now in its second year, will run for two days on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2013, 9.30am – 6.00pm.

This intensive seminar weekend training course will provide an unique opportunity for broadcast and journalism professionals to gain an insight into the ‘nuts-and-bolts’ workings of one of the world’s most successful radio documentary units.

RTÉ Radio 1’s Documentary on One team has collected nearly 100 national and international awards in the past five years; 2012 was their most successful year yet, with 25 awards collected from national and international competitions right across the globe – from New York, throughout Ireland and Europe and as far afield as Iran.

Attendees of the course will gain an insight on all aspects of the documentary-making progress from the initial conception of an idea to editing for broadcast. Modules will cover recording technology, interviewing technique, ambient sound recording, use of music, storytelling, structure, choosing the right ideas and mixing/editing.
