Prism Mic to Monitor in Dublin

Prism Sound’s popular educational seminar tour is heading to Ireland in May, when the first event in its 2017 schedule will take place at the legendary Windmill Lane Recording Studios, on May 25th in association with Big Bear Sound, supported by fellow manufacturers SADiE, GIK Acoustics and PMC Speakers.

The guest speaker for this event is producer and engineer Rob Kirwan, who has worked with artists including U2, Depeche Mode, Editors, Bell X1 and Local Natives. Kirwan produced and engineered the successful and award-winning debut album by Hozier, No.1 in the Irish Charts, the US Top Rock Album Charts, US Top Alternative Album Charts and US Folk Album Charts. He also had a No.1 hit on the UK Album charts in 2016 with The Hope Six Demolition Project by PJ Harvey.

Kirwan believes his key role as a Producer lies in the skill for identifying elements that make an artist sound individual, then enhancing those elements. He will talk Mic to Monitor attendees through some of his mixes and reveal how he gets his signature sound. The seminar will also feature presentations from all three supporting manufacturers, the topics discussed will range from audio hardware design, recording techniques and how to get the best from your studio.

The Mic to Monitor tour recently added dates in the U.S.A. including Ball State University on March 28th, SAE Chicago on March 29th and Tri-C Cleveland on the 31st.
